Hi, my name is Dawn Catmull and I have been teaching decorative painting and
craft classes since Jan 2000.

I had my first taste of decorative painting whilst living in Australia for 2 years
where it is very popular and even the supermarkets stock wooden blanks to paint
on.  On returning to England I decided to share my passion with others.....and 'The
Paint Palette' was born.

I had not picked up a paintbrush since doing art at school and didn't think I would
be able to paint the pieces I admired but how wrong could I be.  After learning the
basic brush strokes in my first few classes, I quickly moved on to flowers, fruit,
teddies and Christmas projects . I found I was painting every spare moment I had,
no more relaxing in front of the tv, this was too enjoyable to miss!    

I attend regular classes myself with other teachers from around the UK and have   
completed the Creative Possibilites Teacher Training Modules 1 & 2 run by Auscraft
and Chroma Inc.  I am a professional member of both BADFA (British Association
of Decorative Painting & Folk Art) the SAA (Society of all Artists) and UKDP
(Decorative Painters UK).

Now as well as painting in my spare time, I plan my classes and organise
workshops so that more people can be creative just like me.
